FPT:  How Alan Escano is bringing poker closer to your screen

by LemOnTilt

Allan Escano

You’ve read stories of players for months now.  You’ve learned from their mouths what they’ve been through, the bad beats they had to endure and are still enduring and the glory thereafter.  What’s next?

We at PilipinasPoker have decided to give you something else; something of a combination of the sport that we so love and smart business decisions.  No.  This is not about staking who you think are the perfect horses.  Such things don’t exist anyway.  Although we don’t mind that you stake your friends in big tourneys if you think they have the knack for it.  We have a list of names in our heads (including yours truly) if you would insist.

New kid in town

by HardCoreHalo

The list of final table players of The Metro Independence Day Weekend Special included an unfamiliar name.

Aaron is an occasional poker player.  It’s his first time to be in a final table of a major tourney.  He didn’t sport a hooded sweatshirt, he had no oversized headphones or Ipod, no dark sunglasses, no gimmicks, no frills.   And nobody knew how he played, we were soon to find out that he was all business.

I asked him before the final table started regarding the payout structure.  He mentioned the top 3 would get a substantial amount but of course he would like to win the tourney.  Even if the final table started with Aaron 2nd in chipstack, he was definitely the longshot.  But that was soon to change…

PilipinasPoker APA Tour (PPAPAT) Event III

by RedAirkson

40 players registered for the third leg of the PilipinasPoker APA Tour (PPAPAT)- this online leg was again played at Goalwin, with a starting stack 2000, and 20-minute blind levels.

Many tour players would miss this leg because of the ongoing weekend event at the Metro Card Club, but there was some fresh meat to feast on - the most notable names being DGreat4ever, and 8CELESTIAL8 - who took time from their cash grinds to earn some tourney points. A would-be last minute registrant made it to the chat box, but not into the tourney proper...maybe next week, Papajeks!
